As if the loss of points in this weekend’s first two games of the EC Derby wasn’t enough, FC Buffalo was dealt another blow Thursday as their appeal of a league suspension to their head coach was turned down.
On Wednesday, league officials told FC Buffalo’s ownership bench boss Dan Krzyzanowicz would be suspended for three games after being ejected from Friday’s home loss to the Erie Admirals.
The Blitzers staff lodged an appeal of the suspension, but it was denied by the National Premier Soccer League’s disciplinary board. The ownership issued a statement late Thursday.
“We’re very disappointed to be without Coach K for our games at Detroit, home to Binghamton and at Erie. However, we recognize the authority and thorough review process of our league and accept the judgment.”
The team will have coaching by committee beginning with this weekend in Michigan, with player/coach Matt Stedman taking charge whenever possible. Krzyzanowicz will return for the June 30 home finale versus Detroit City FC and guide the team through the postseason tournament slate.
