Krzyzanowicz rosters five more for Brooklyn tilt

Cincinnati Bearcats product Mark Konitsch (Clarence, NY) is one of five additions to the FC Buffalo roster ahead of Saturday’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying match versus the Brooklyn Italians (5 p.m. John Dewey High School in Brooklyn, NY).

Konitsch started every match of his junior and senior years at UC and totaled seven goals and 13 assists in his four years at school. He’s joined by Niagara University midfielder Jake Schindler (Irondequoit HS/Rochester, N.Y.), USC Upstate goalkeeper Patrick Regna (Rochester, N.Y.), Akron high school product Jamie Salcedo and soon-to-be Hartwick College freshman Chris Walter (Nichols School).

The club has also designated five players, including Salcedo, as developmental players for the 2011 summer. Matt Hamister, Joe Cillis, Ryan Schroen and Tom Austin will train with the club with the aim of playing in the future.
