Carissima Cutrona scored a goal and added two assists as FC Buffalo got back to winning ways with a 5-0 race past Pittsburgh Hotspurs at Dobson Field on Sunday.

Cutrona (Williamsville, N.Y. / University at Buffalo) scored with a side-netting rocket in the 7th minute and the Blitzers never looked back in a game that started and ended in the sun despite an early second-half rainstorm in Buffalo.

Djeynaba “DJ” Thiam had an influential game alongside Cutrona up top the FCB attack, scoring the game’s second goal, while Kat Camper, Tatyjana Scalisi, and Danielle Vis also grabbed goals. Maya Palmer assisted Cutrona’s goal.

Emily Kelly (Wilson, N.Y. / University at Buffalo) made a few saves in the clean-sheet performance, while Vis was a midfield menace for FCB.

Coach Nikki Bartholomew’s side hits the season’s midpoint in first place in United Women’s Soccer Penn-NY division, a point ahead of Erie Commodores and three clear of Rochester Lancers.

The Wolves will next hit the pitch at 3pm ET Saturday for a visit from Canadian side FC Berlin. Buy presale tickets at SoccerStub.
