FCB re-signs three; Samuels cleared

The Rochester Rhinos released Andy Tiedt and Brian Knapp back to FC Buffalo after both served in Tuesday’s US Open Cup tilt between Rochester and New England. Both players have been cleared through the National Premier Soccer League system and are eligible for Friday’s match in Cleveland and Sunday’s tilt in Zanesville. Peter Marlette was also resigned after training but not partaking in game day action for the Rhinos this week.

The weekend will also see the debut of Canisius College forward Asani Samuels. The Jamaican-born striker has been internationally-cleared to suit up for FCB. Samuels scored four goals for the Golden Griffins during his sophomore campaign after notching a goal and an assist for Canisus as a freshman in 2011.

Kickoff between the Blitzers and Royals is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, while Sunday’s match in Zanesville kicks off at 3 p.m.
