FC Buffalo blanked FC Berlin 3-0 on Thursday, improving their perfect season to five-straight wins to stay atop the United Women’s Soccer East Division.

A top-notch crowd at Williamsville South Athletic Field saw the Blitzers take a 1-0 lead into halftime as Ella Rudney scored but Berlin goalkeeper Hannah Johnson stopped 12 saves to keep the game close.

Rudney and Marissa Birzon helped prod a Berlin own goal to make it 2-0 before Birzon scored from an improbable angle to cap off the scoring.

The women head to Buff State for an away game versus FC Berlin on Wednesday before their final home regular season match, July 1 vs Erie Commodores in an Erie County derby. Tickets are available here.

The men’s next home match comes at 7pm on June 27 live from Williamsville South Athletic Field. Get your tickets here.
