Blitzers connect with two including McFayden

FC Buffalo just got a whole lot faster.

Kendal McFayden will spend the first part of his summer with the Blitzers as the All-American continues his rise through the soccer ranks. McFayden played for Coach K at Medaille before signing with the USL’s Austin Aztex last summer. In 2009, he scored eight goals in 16 games with the Aztex’s U-23 team. Last season, he played in four matches for the big club, scoring in his debut.

“USL was a great experience and I really used my rookie year to learn a lot,” McFayden said. “To get the opportunity to play for Coach K again is amazing.”

Fayden scored 42 goals during his time at Medaille after a stellar tenure at Williamsville North High School. He will lend an explosive and experienced skill set to an already very talented offensive squad.

The Blitzers also reached an agreement with Colgate midfielder Mike Reidy, who joins his college teammate Matt Schuber on the team. Reidy registered 38 shots in 2010, scoring thrice and adding two helpers as the Raiders won the Patriot League title.
