Mexico’s Monarcas Morelia showed class throughout a thorough 2-0 defeat of FC Buffalo on Saturday in an international friendly that served as a tough tune-up for the recently assembled Wolves.

FCB goalkeeper Jeremy Figler made a number of fine saves in the loss, as did his sub Bryce Tramuta.

NEXT HOME GAME: FCB v. FC St. Pauli!

Both goals were magnificent bits of football, and both were courtesy of Carlos Valdespino. The 22-year-old rose high to head a pinpoint corner kick behind Figler in the 26th minute.

Then Valdespino hammered a dynamite diagonal pass from Genaro Huerta past Tramuta in the 85th.

The Situation Room was in fine throat for the match, which was also the first visit of a Mexican club to Buffalo in nearly 90 years.

FCB hits the road next for a 10th Anniversary trip to Germany, with matches against FC St. Pauli II, DSC Wanne-Eickel, and a Dortmund XI including some memorable names.
