There are only two conference teams the Blitzers have not posted wins against: Erie and Pocono. In our inaugural season, FC Buffalo drew the Pocono Snow home and away, while dropping both decisions against the rival Admirals.
Did you miss the big big big big WNY Soccer contest we announced Wednesday evening? Click here for details.
Both opponents visit Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium this weekend — Pocono on Saturday night and Erie on Sunday afternoon — on different waves. The Snow sit at the bottom of the table after losing all three of their tilts (FC Sonic, Atlantic City and New Jersey). Erie has only suited up once on account of weather, nipping Reading, 2-1. They will have hosted New Jersey on Friday evening before rolling up to Buffalo.
The club is having two giveaways this weekend. On Saturday, the first 250 fans through the gate will receive FC Buffalo schedule magnets, courtesy of Richard Schieb and AXA Advisors. Over the course of the weekend, we also have 500 silly bands in the shapes of prominent Buffalo objects like wings and, well, buffalo, courtesy of Buffalo Wing Wear.
Saturday is also Youth Day for the soccer clubs of Hamburg and Lancaster-Depew. $3 of every $5 ticket sold to folks representing those organizations go back to their respective clubs, the their U-10 representatives will be facing off at halftime. If you want your club to reserve a future date/halftime game, email nick@fcbuffalo.org.
Kick-off Saturday is at 7 p.m., while Sunday’s start is slated for 3 p.m.
