WIVB Sports’ Steve Vesey welcomed FC Buffalo defender Jake Rinow this week to talk about the team, its players and playing for its fans on Channel 4’s “Overtime” show.
One of the things Rinow, a Lancaster, N.Y. native, was asked about was playing in front of the fans in Buffalo.
“It’s amazing,” Rinow. “I played for Cornell, so I wasn’t in Buffalo. Every summer I always wanted to come back and play for my hometown. Our team motto is ‘for our city’ and being a homegrown Buffalo player, it’s makes me more happy than I can tell you. Stepping on the field in the City of Buffalo with 1000 fans cheering behind me, it’s just incredible.”
