FCB draws Rochester

Nevado Elliott’s early penalty kick was not enough, as FC Buffalo couldn’t find a match-winning goal in a must-win game against the Rochester Lancers in front of an outstanding crowd at Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium on Sunday.

The Lancers drew level on a counter attack and sat back to soak up desperate FCB’s pressure for much of the afternoon. The draw means FCB cannot catch Rochester for the second playoff spot in the NPSL Midwest Region’s Eastern Conference.

Elliott drew and converted the penalty with some tough dribbling on the right edge of the Rochester area.

FCB will now hope to play spoiler next weekend in Ohio, as Cleveland SC can wrap up home field advantage in the region with a win on Saturday at the George Finnie Stadium. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. ET.

Thank you to amazing group of supporters. We owe you better, and we’ll immediately begin a new effort to build toward silverware.
