FC Buffalo captain Kendell McFayden was named to the National Premier Soccer League’s East Conference Best XI on Friday, becoming the first FCB player to earn league honors at two positions.

The ex-Rochester Rhinos forward, 29, scored a team-high six goals for manager Frank Butcher in NPSL play this season, adding an assist. He also appeared in two friendlies, scoring a goal and adding an assist.

McFayden earned NPSL Best XI honors in 2015 under then head coach Brendan Murphy, though the skillful Medaille College product was a center back that season.

For his career, McFayden has a team record 18 goals with three assists in 38 appearances. Only Chris Walter has appeared in more matches for FC Buffalo.
