FC Buffalo got a brace from Felix Kogler to likely close out their first USL League Two season with a 2-2 draw against Toledo Villa at Paul Hotmer Field in Ohio on Tuesday.
Traveling with a side riddled with injuries, the side performed very well for coach Trevor Lawler, twice leading second place Villa and dealing with an hour-long lightning delay after a long day of travel.
Goalkeeper Arthur Hill was one of the stars of the show with several big saves, though Kogler’s free kick to open the scoring and low, driven smash to make it 2-1 will steal the headlines.
Newfane native Trevor Heschke made his FC Buffalo debut at left back and went 90 minutes, as did Wheatfield’s AJ Zarcone. Late in the game, Lewiston’s Dominic Massaro entered the contest and would be credited with the assist on Kogler’s goal.
FC Buffalo’s inaugural USL League Two voyage is likely over with a rescheduled home date with Kings Hammer FC out of the playoff picture.
The club will confirm that in short order as well as addressing it’s affect on season ticket holders.
