FCB, Buffalo schools announce student showcase

FC Buffalo is extremely proud to announce the latest part of our plan to grow the game of soccer in Buffalo, as we’ve partnered with Buffalo Public Schools to launch a talent showcase for boys and girls high school players in the City of Buffalo.

On May 6-7, 2014 at Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium, we will be overseeing the FC Buffalo’s first annual BPS talent showcase. It will be open to all varsity players from the Buffalo Public Schools.

FCB has already received commitments from several Division I, III and junior college soccer coaches to added the showcase.

“Buffalo Public Schools will do anything to provide a platform for our great student athletes, especially when it can help them catch the eyes of people who can help them in their pursuit of higher education,” said BPS director of athletics Aubrey Lloyd. “We’re excited that FC Buffalo wants to hold this event as we too are ‘for our city,’.”

The events will begin at 1:30 p.m. both days, with a girls soccer showcase on Tuesday and the boys edition to take place on Wednesday. The event is the next step in a process that has included free camps for Buffalo students.

Official statement from FC Buffalo:

“College coaches have had their eyes opened to the talent in Buffalo Public Schools. It’s our mission to make sure soccer is growing at all levels in our city and we’re thrilled to continue our cooperation with BPS and Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium.”
