FC Buffalo is happy to announce that our women’s team will playing in the USL W League’s Central Conference for the 2025 season, joining our men’s USL League Two team in the United Soccer League set-up.

The USL W League is a leader in pre-professional soccer in North America, developing the next generation of women’s talent both on and off the field. The USL W League strives to use women’s soccer as a force for societal good by creating a national platform to increase opportunity, gender equity, and career development. The League and its member clubs are committed to investing in women’s soccer – through not only financial resources but also with time, energy, and attention – and are united in our mission to grow the women’s game.

“FC Buffalo has taken great strides to create an impact in the Buffalo area, so we’re happy to see the club expand into the W League,” said Joel Nash, SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. “Having FC Buffalo join the W League in its monumental 15th year as a club is very exciting and further proves the club’s dedication to providing a highly competitive and developmental environment to all its players.”

FC Buffalo’s fifth season as a women’s side sees it join a W League that grew from 45 to 66 teams in its first three seasons, and our club intends to do everything in its power to join North Carolina Courage U23, Indy Eleven, and South Georgia Tormenta as national champions.

“The USL’s work in the women’s game has been an inspiration, and our club’s ability to join this exciting set-up keeps us on our path to serve the game in our city,” said FC Buffalo co-owner Nick Mendola. “It’s an invitation we’re humbled to receive, and we eagerly accept the challenge as part of our busiest and most ambitious summer yet in the women’s game.”

FCB director of women’s soccer Liz Mantel will be back to direct the 2025 season, as we look to build on four tremendous seasons in United Women’s Soccer. The club has made the playoffs in all four seasons, playing in two National Championship weekends, and is incredibly grateful for our grounding in UWS.

When does the USL W League calendar run?

We’ll have firm dates once our schedule is settled, but the USL W League schedule runs about the same as United Women’s Soccer: May to (hopefully) late July.

What does this change for FC Buffalo women’s soccer?

Aside from new opponents, an exciting USL stage, and more games, we will bring the same intense competitive energy and passionate game day experience for our women’s team. We’re here to try and win everything on offer.

Are there any changes in women’s season tickets?

Nope. FC Buffalo men’s and women’s season regular season games are still included at the current price of $60*. Join or renew now!

*As always, FC Buffalo reserves the right to alter the price given unprojected shifts in the facility and transportation markets.
