Let’s catch up on some big things prior to Saturday’s home doubleheader.
1) THANK YOU. Wow. This has been some summer already (and summer doesn’t technically start until 4 in the morning on Sunday). We may a difficult decision to let the world know we’d be hit hard this winter and your response has been amazing. We’d especially like to thank our supporters for chipping in with purchases and meal sponsorships, but also new partners Bank of Holland, Magnasport, and Must Love Futbol as well as returning folks who stepped up further like Happy Sherpa Travel and Banshee Irish Pub.
2) So what’s new? We are, of course, celebrating the men’s World Cup and the aforementioned Bank of Holland have helped us put one of our goals into reality: We have the Golden Brewt available at games!! This 22 oz. soccer boot style cup has already been of great use to us watching games at home and we loved seeing fans using them at Buff State for our doubleheader sweep of Cleveland on Saturday.
3) HOME DOUBLEHEADER!! Haven’t made a game yet? We get it, but there’s never been a better time than Saturday, when our women’s look to make it three-straight wins and our men look to keep up their first for the USL Great Forest Division title with a win over Pittsburgh Riverhounds. It all starts at 4pm from Coyer Field on the campus of Buffalo State. Get tickets today.
4) Initial public thank yous —> We have a lot more public thanking to do, but some initial shoutouts to those who have made our early season possible after a thorny offseason or two.
- Tank of gas: Thank you to Kyle Rogers, Adam Rivers, James Revelas, Michael Abbott, Catherine Muskin, Michael Russo, David Drews, and Jake Szopinski for helping us get to away matches.
- Team meal: Thank you Jason King, Luke Faulkner, and Philip McIntyre as well as Alison Panetta on behalf of The Situation Room for making sure we can go the next step for our players before away matches.
- Player sponsorship: Thank you to Destin Santacrose as well as Jeff Fabin on behalf of the Queen City Kop for getting behind an individual player’s time spent in Buffalo.
- ENTIRE AWAY DAY: Thanks to Conor Hawkins at the Banshee Irish Pub for getting us through an entire away trip.
