Detroit City scored once in the first half and thrice in the second to distance themselves from FC Buffalo with a 4-0 victory in front of 1,800 at Cass Tech in Michigan.
Grant Chong, Shawn Lawson and Austin Oldham scored for Le Rouge (8-0-0), who also benefited off a late FC Buffalo (6-0-2) own goal.
After a spirited first half that saw the Blitzers go down on a defensive miscommunication, Detroit City took control of the match and the table in the second half by drawing foul after foul with aggressive play.
FC Buffalo returns to the field for a Sunday, June 30 match against the Erie Admirals at 1 p.m. The first 200 fans receive a plastic megaphone courtesy of Hilbert College’s Center For Adult and Graduate Studies.
