FC Buffalo manager Frank Butcher was asked for and granted permission to allow longtime goalkeeper Steve Casey to join fellow NPSL side AFC Ann Arbor on an emergency basis for Tuesday’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup game in Michigan.

Ann Arbor, nicknamed “The Mighty Oak”, has one goalkeeper USOC Cup-tied and a second injured for the match against the Michigan Bucks of the PDL. Ann Arbor is coached by former Lansing United boss Eric Rudland.

The 6-foot-6 Casey, who enters his redshirt-junior year for coach Bill Boyle at Niagara this Fall, has been with FCB since his senior year of high school at Williamsville South. He’s posted two clean sheets between the sticks for the blue and gold.

Casey will return to FCB for the NPSL season.
