Wolves blank Lancers, streak hits 7

FCB’s next home match comes Friday, June 29 against Erie Commodores SC. Admission is $8 at the door, $7 presale.

Troy Brady and Keane McIvor each scored a goal and an assist as goalkeeper Steve Casey and FC Buffalo shut out the Rochester Lancers 3-0 at Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium on Friday.

The win runs FCB’s unbeaten streak to seven matches ahead of Sunday’s trip to face Fort Pitt Regiment in Pennsylvania.

Gary Boughton also scored in the win, which keeps FCB within sight of the top of the table with three matches left in the season.

The Wolves opened the scoring just before halftime, when McIvor played Brady (Grand Island, N.Y. / Canisius College) through on goal. Brady danced around the Rochester keeper and fired home to make it 1-0 into the break.

The score would stay that way into the 72nd minute, when McIvor found Brady again. Only this time, Brady laid off for Boughton to blast off the left post and into the goal.

FCB would finish its scoring through McIvor, who had time to shoot when Akean Shackleford’s cross swept over the fray to Bautista Pedezert at the back post. The Niagara University rising junior laid off for McIvor to finish.
