WNY Refugee Internship Program

FC Buffalo is happy to announce we’ve found a way to help our volunteer staff as well as the Buffalo refugee community, including organizations Journey’s End, Westside International Soccer, and World Refugee Day WNY. For more information on our FundRazr campaign, please head here.

As of today, FC Buffalo is accepting applications for our first ever Refugee Internship Program. This announcement continues our club’s increasing commitment to Buffalo’s refugee community and our city as a whole.

This new program will give opportunities to multiple young people from our community to join the staff of FC Buffalo during the 2019 season and learn more about business and the sports industry. FC Buffalo interns have a history of going on to be hired by professional sports teams thanks to the valuable experience they gained here. Additionally, the club is happy to work with academic institutions to see if there is a possibility of course credit for these select 2019 staffers.

As you know, our motto is “For Our City”. Since the club’s inception we have done our best to play our part in the community. In our 10th anniversary season, we will be renewing those vows and stepping up our game even more.

“This is a really exciting time for FC Buffalo and it gives us a chance to show who we are,” said Ryan Schupp, FC Buffalo director of community and fan engagement.

“We believe a soccer club should be more than a sports team. It should be a pillar of its community. We hope that this internship and everything else we have planned for this year will show that our club is for everyone, and that we truly are For Our City.”

FC Buffalo interns do it all. During game days you will find them prepping the field and stadium, running the front office and merchandise stand, and working up in the press box.

Outside of game days interns work closely with club management to help grow our club. This includes everything from forming marketing plans to coordinating sponsorships to working on communications and media. The goal is to produce experienced business people who can be capable leaders of our staff and other teams across our city.
