Three more Wolves join for 2016

FC Buffalo head coach Brendan Murphy added another three players to the 2016 roster, the club announced Thursday.

2015 NPSL All-Midwest First Team midfielder Andrew Ferguson is joined by former Niagara teammate Nicky Watson and ex-Canisius star striker Regan Steele on the roster for 2016.

“Not only is this our deepest and most talented roster, it’s our largest,” said co-owner and general manager Nick Mendola. “With wildly differing academic calendars, we will have an incredible amount of competition for spots in the lineup later in the season.

“Andrew is known quality in our league, while Regan is well-established as a leader in Buffalo soccer circles and Nicky has now shown well in two conferences. We’re thrilled at these additions by our coaching staff.”

FC Buffalo opens its 2016 season with a visit from the Rochester River DogZ on Saturday, May 14 at 7 p.m.

Andrew Ferguson (Niagara University / Stoney Creek, Ontario)

— Scored three goals, three assists for FCB in 2015; Invited to 2015 NPSL Combine.

Regan Steele (Canisius College / Lower Hutt, New Zealand)

— Scored six goals and eight assists in four years for the Griffs, making 79 appearances.

Nicky Watson (Wofford College / Greenville, S.C.)

— Scored 7 goals with 4 assists for Niagara before transferring to Wofford, where he netted twice with three assists as a junior.
