The second-leading scorer in FC Buffalo history is now the second Major League Soccer draft pick to play for the club.

Mike Reidy of Colgate (Webster, N.Y.) distinguished himself as a lethal crosser and dribbler during two years for the Blitzers and was selected by Sporting KC with the 71st overall pick in Tuesday’s supplemental draft.

“Reidy’s skills speak for themselves and we’re grateful that he came to play for us, displaying professional work ethic and true team consideration along the way,” said FCB general manager Nick Mendola. “We have to thank our former coach, Dan Krzyzanowicz, who clearly did a great thing for the club when he convinced him to play here. We know Mike won’t be the last of ours to make his mark in MLS.”

Reidy found net 8 times for the Blitzers between 2011-2012 and added four assists. His blistering run through Greater Binghamton FC in 2012 was one of the most electrifying National Premier Soccer League goals imaginable.

Keep your eyes peeled on this space for a talk with Mike in the near future.
