FC Buffalo head coach Brendan Murphy announced the addition of one more player for the 2016 NPSL campaign, which begins 7 p.m. Saturday at Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium against Rochester River DogZ FC.

Monmouth University graduate David Acuna Camacho, 22, has committed to FCB for the 2016 season and will join the team pending international clearance from his native Costa Rica, where he represents the youth national team.

The well-decorated defender just completed a four-year stint at MAAC powerhouse Monmouth, where he was the 2015 Conference Defensive Player of the Year, an ECAC First Team All-Star, a member of the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Team and the winner of the College Boot Supporters’ Choice Award.

“David is a tremendous player who captained one of the best teams in the country under Robert McCourt’s guidance at Monmouth,” said FCB general manager Nick Mendola. “His pedigree coming from that school — along with his time with the Costa Rica youth national team and the academy at CONCACAF power LD Alajuelense — make him one of the most intriguing players available and certainly a future professional player.”

Acuna Camacho strengthens an already powerful and deep Wolves squad, one built for the rigors of a long season and playoff run. See you Saturday at All-High.
