Murphy Adds To Brain Trust & Other Notes

FC Buffalo head coach Brendan Murphy has added up-and-coming coach Mike Ertel to his coaching staff, joining Bob Roach on the crew of the first-year bench boss.

“I wanted to be involved with Coach Murphy because I knew could learn a lot from him and I see him as a mentor in my own coaching development,” said Ertel, pictured above (right) with Murphy.

“Murph and FC Buffalo have brought in some top quality players this year and it’s a pleasure to work with players of this quality. I’d like to assist in developing each player to their potential with the success of the team.”

Ertel, 22, already has a long list of coaching accolades after a 4-year career for the North Tonawanda High School program. The Canisius College student is an assistant coach in the NYS West Olympic Development Program, the varsity boys coach at West Seneca East High School and the 3v3 academy director and U12 Boys associate head coach at Empire Revolution Soccer Academy Buffalo. He holds his USSF National C License and NYSWYSA Goalkeeper Certificate.
