Murphy adds three ahead of opener

FC Buffalo head coach Brendan Murphy announced three new commitments at opening night of training for the 2015 season.

2013 FCB veteran defender Adam Lauko (University of Wisconsin) joins English striker Michael Clarke (Georgian Court) and Buffalo goalkeeper Michael Shatkin (University of Rochester) on the team.

Murphy on Clarke…

“Michael comes to us as a D-2 regional All-American, where he’s scored 18 goals in his first two seasons. He’s know to be pacey and tough on the ball, and we look forward to getting a long look at him in training, and watching him compete.”

Murphy on Lauko…

“He’s massive … being in the Big 10 and in the strength program at Wisconsin, he’s going to be very difficult to move. Adam can be a dominant force in the air and be a disruptor. Being familiar with the league is big.”

Murphy on Shatkin…

“I’ve worked with him on-and-off since he was 12 through high school. I’m very happy to see him at U of R and starting. He’s improved a ton. Michael is sharp. He’s mobile. He’s good with his feet. He’ll compete for minutes.”

FC Buffalo opens its season on May 16 at 7 p.m. against the Cincinnati Saints at Howe Field in Hamburg before returning to Robert E. Rich Sr. All-High Stadium for a 7 p.m. match against Detroit City on May 23.
