We’re nearly at the end of the line for profiles on our brand new players, but you’re still getting top-end talent as we come close to wrapping up these Q&As.
Luke Pavone plays for Mark Howlett at Buffalo State, where the crafty attacker has arrived by way of UMass, while Austin Place is the fourth of our players coming from Stu Riddle’s UB Bulls.
First: Luke Pavone
How would you describe yourself as a player, and what players in the world at your position do you admire?
Versatile, pacy player with a ton of urgency and energy on the pitch. Love to attack and create but there’s nothing I enjoy more than a hard challenge. I admire players with styles like Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla, players who can make something out of nothing.
What do you like to do away from soccer?
There is no time away from soccer… but when im not on the pitch or training I enjoy riding by dads old race bike (if the weather permits) and beating my brother Alex in FIFA.
What’s your most memorable soccer experience?
Scoring my first goal at the D1 level for UMass, in coast-to-coast fashion was exhilarating, a feeling I will never forget.
What’s your most memorable non-soccer experience?
Climbing the high peaks with my Dad before he passed.
What’s something fans should know about you?
Back in the day I was #1 in the state for Gymnastics. Can’t wait to show the fans some acrobatic moves and celebrations! And I’m a huge Arsenal fan.
Next up: Austin Place

I would say that I am a smart player. I try not to make any unnecessary risks and try to be possession oriented. I admire Thiago Silva at the CB position, Dani Alves at the RB position and Pirlo at the CDM position.
