FC Buffalo’s first season in United Women’s Soccer remains unbeaten and undrawn, but not without drama following a 3-2 win over Albany Rush at Lansingburgh High School in Troy, N.Y. on Saturday.

Marcy Barberic (Grand Island, N.Y. / University at Buffalo) scored a goal within three minutes of her FCB debut and assisted a Kelsey Araujo (Bradford, Ontario / Niagara University) goal as the visitors build a 3-1 lead in Eastern New York.

Dani Vis (Milton, Ontario / Saint Bonaventure University) scored her second goal of the season in the win and captain Carissima Cutrona (Williamsville, N.Y. / picked up another assist, but a 3-1 halftime lead was narrowed by Albany and FCB had to dig deep in the May heat after a four-hour drive from Buffalo to hold onto all three points and a 2-0 record on the young season.

Victoria Colotti (New Windsor, NY / Buffalo State College) had an exceptional day at right back for th first half and center mid for the second earning Player of the Match honors.

FCB Women won’t play again until Wednesday, June 2 in Syracuse, two days before they finally stage their first home on June 4 versus Albany Rush.
