When FC Buffalo defender Josiah Snelgrove heard that the team had partnered with Heritage Centers to raise funds for the community organization via a 5k run, he wanted to do a step better than participating.
“I will be participating in the 12 annual Heritage 5K and am willing to put out this challenge to all racers: Any racer to beat me will have a free season ticket for the remainder of the 2013 FC Buffalo season,” Snelgrove said. “Come support a great foundation!”
After reading up on Heritage Centers, the former FC New York and Charlotte Eagles player asked the FC Buffalo ownership group to up their ante. Anyone* who beats Snelgrove’s 5k time — he’s an avid runner — will win paper season tickets to our 2013 NPSL home games.
“We’re pleased that our players have been so vocal about supporting our community,” said FC Buffalo co-owner Joshua Batten. “Josiah is not only a terrific athlete, but a strong young leader.”
