For the second time in three seasons, FC Buffalo boast the best player in the division, and he’s a Buffalo boy.
Ali Alomari has been named the 2026 Great Forest Division Player of the Year after leading FCB in goals with 14, just four away from the USL2 Golden Boot. Ali also chipped in two assists as part of the Blitzer’s run to the playoffs. He’s also been named to the USL2 Central Conference Team of the Year.
The Lackawanna-born Alomari, 24, has twice represented the Yemeni national team after a collegiate career with Niagara University and a stint abroad with Spanish club AD Alcorcon.
“Watching Ali grow from one of the very best high school prospects in Buffalo to a charismatic leader and USL Golden Boot contender has been a treat,” said FC Buffalo co-owner Nick Mendola. “He’s set a wonderful example for the talented young players all over Buffalo.
Alomari’s 19 goals with FCB trail only our other USL2 Player of the Year — Ander Castillo — with 26 all-time. He’s put up the gaudy numbers in 19 career games across parts of three seasons.
Alomari was part of lethal trident with Lovro Kostanjsek and Lucas Soares as FCB scored the Central Conference’s second-most goals with 32 — the most in the Great Forest Division.
