FC Buffalo made a handful of mistakes in a sloppy second half that turned a 1-1 deadlock into a 4-1 loss against the reigning NPSL champion AFC Cleveland Royals at Stan Skoczen Stadium in Independence, Ohio, on Friday.

A slick surface after a pregame downpour helped Cleveland to a first half penalty that the Royals converted, but Cameron Emerson hammered a bullet volley to make it 1-1 before the break. Bayley Winkel snared the assist.

The second half featured little to like, as a trio of mental errors allowed the veteran Royals to collect a trio of goals.

FCB will attempt to turn things around with a 2 p.m. Sunday tilt against expansion side Syracuse FC at All-High.
