FC Buffalo Rovers – UWS2

FC Buffalo UWS2

Roster, summer in review

It was a fun summer for our UWS2 side, even without a formal UWS2 schedule for this summer as the reorganization of the first division’s conference led to a series of friendlies for the Rovers.

Thanks to coach Donny George and all of the women who worked hard as part of our club, several of whom made appearances for or fully transitioned into coach Nikki Bartholomew’s first team set-up.

UWS2 team branded FC Buffalo Rovers, unveils new jersey

FC Buffalo is proud to announce that our reserve teams will be called the Rovers (sometimes stylized FCB Rovers) with a 2022-23 title sponsorship from the Banshee Irish Pub.

FC Buffalo president Nick Mendola joined Banshee Irish pub ownership to unveil the jersey at the pub earlier this week. The club is very grateful for the Banshee’s strong support of our project and can’t wait to catch more games at their place, located downtown at 257 Franklin St.

FC Buffalo is thrilled to announce the addition of Donny George as head coach of our UWS2 team and assistant coach of the men’s NPSL team.

In addition to competing for a UWS2 division crown and developing players towards the UWS first team, George will assist Ryan “Ozzy” Osborne’s new staff on the men’s side.

“I’m incredibly excited to work with such a great organization,” George said. “From owner to coaches, the club is dedicated to providing a high-performance culture in which players can continue their development over the summer months. I look forward to supporting FC Buffalo’s mission.”

A native of Ipswich, England, George served as an assistant at Daemen College and was the women’s head coach at Erie Community College before moving to Monteagle Ridge to become an assistant for Niagara University’s women’s program.

He was previously a grad assistant for the men’s program at his alma mater, Baker University, where he played defender and earned degrees in biology and sports management.
