Warm-up music suggestions needed!

Hello friendos,

Just five days from the opener, and we are FIRED UP! So, it follows that we want to know: What fires you up?

We think sports fans are a classier lot than traditional arena music suggests. We don’t want “Cotton-Eyed Joe” or “Womanizer” playing during warm-ups and halftime, so tell us what songs you want played around Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium.

We have some grand ideas, but please suggest some for us. “Search and Destroy?” “Seek and Destroy?” “C.R.E.A.M.?”

Also, we’ll be watching the US take on the Czech Republic in a pre-World Cup warm-up at Papa Jake’s on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Hope to share a couple pops with you!

Just to throw it out there, “Tell Me A Lie” by The Fratellis. Great band and a great song used in FIFA 09′.

Any Passion Pit song, since the lead singer is from Buffalo, “The Reeling” and “Moth’s Wings” are their best songs, Moths Wings is used in FIFA 10.

Now if you REALLY wanted to get anyone pumped up, you’d play some of The Acacia Strain- something like “Behemoth”.

    Warmups
    Goo Goo Dolls – “Disconnected”
    Halftime
Doves – “Black and White Town”
    Nine Black Alps – “Cosmopolitan”

Gotta have some Buffalo flavor (a famous Buffalo band doing a cover of a song by an underground Buffalo band sound good?) and a couple songs from past FIFA games.

Throw in some Oldies 104 fare along with the great suggestions listed above.

    +1 on The Hold Steady

Oh and maybe some nice Roots Reggae – Toots & The Maytals? (Take Me Home) Country Roads. Best reggae John Denver cover ever.
