McFayden signs with Rhinos

Second-leading scorer Kendell McFayden will be plying his trade in the pros this weekend when he joins the USL’s Rochester Rhinos stable of forwards.

The explosive stopper/forward signed for head coach Jesse Myers earlier this week on a contract that will allow him to still play for FC Buffalo through the end of the season. However, McFayden’s priorities are with his new club and he will be unavailable this weekend for the Blitzers.

“I’ve been working really hard since the beginning of the season for this very moment,” said McFayden, whose six points is second on FCB. “All the travelling and hard work has been worth it.”

McFayden joins Daniel Stevens (PS Kemi Kings, Finland) and Krystian Witkowski (Philadelphia Union) as former Blitzers in the pros. FC Buffalo is on the road Friday in Erie for a 7 p.m. kick-off.
