The first high school player to ever suit up for FC Buffalo won't be playing his college ball in Western New York, but he will be back often as an opponent.

Goalkeeper Jordan Dilapo informed the club late Monday that he had selected one of Canisius and Niagara's MAAC rivals, Loyola University Maryland, to play Division I soccer as a freshman next Fall.

"I picked Loyola University Maryland because it has a long tradition of being a winning soccer program that has appeared many times in the NCAA Tournament," Dilapo said. "It also has outstanding academics and gives me the opportunity to achieve great things. Overall, I feel it is a perfect fit for me."

"Jordan's dedication to our club and skill level at a very young age lead us to believe he will be the ideal Greyhound," said FC Buffalo general manager Nick Mendola. "We're thrilled to have him with us this summer and hopefully into his very bright future."

The MAAC produced two players into the MLS Draft this year, Marist/FC Buffalo midfielder Krystian Witkowski and Niagara University player Carl Haworth. Loyola has won 12 MAAC tournaments since 1988 and put many players into the professional ranks including Doug Miller (Rochester Rhinos), Michael Burke (Richmond Kickers) and Dennis Wit (United States National Team/New England Tea Men).
