Given the variety of quality submissions to our 2016 season ticket scarf design contest, it’s no surprise the vote was tight, and the decision a rough one.
With a little help from our staff designer Jacquie McCourt, we have a winner and a runner-up.
Hundreds of votes were cast for the eight submissions, with each receiving a significant portion of the spread. Three rivaled for the win.
Third place was Brandon Chiarmonte’s dizzying diagonal “Wolves” stripe design, while second was Adam Singh’s “Skyline” option. Both designers win a pair of season ticket scarves.

We loved them both, and even flirted with finding a way to combine all three top designs. But in the end the winner of four season ticket scarves was William Quintana, an Ecuador native and UB graduate who calls the West Side home.
“When I designed the scarf I hoped to express the electrifying power of soccer while paying homage to our city,” Quintana said. “I imagined the soccer ball as a body of electricity at the moment of entering the opposite teams net. By placing the logotype “for our city” wrapping the ball I hoped to further accentuate this. When FC buffalo scores, they do it for all of us, for the whole of the City of Buffalo.”
Congrats to all eight finalists. We’re humbled that they sent their talents our way. Don’t be surprised if you see the other designs pop up elsewhere in the FC Buffalo universe.
