Exciting news out of FCBHQ (and by news, we mean this has been in the works forever and we can finally announce it).

First: the on-field. FC Buffalo is proud to announce a preseason friendly at Genesee Community College on Saturday, April 25 at 4pm. This game against the Cougars will be free to attend, and feature a combination of our veteran players, some faces from the past and some trial players hoping to make an impression on our coaching staff.

“We all want to make our season longer, and this is the first step toward that and a way to reach out to a good community in Batavia,” said FC Buffalo co-owner Nick Mendola. “Coach Ken Gavin runs a great operation over at GCC and we’re really happy to see our fans earlier than usual, get a good run versus the Cougars, and then spend an evening with our friends at Batavia Downs Gaming.”

As you’re all quite familiar, FC Buffalo has had a long and fruitful corporate partnership with the good folks at Batavia Downs Gaming and Western Regional OTB. After the game, all legal-aged fans are invited to join our staff for a great deal on entertainment.

For $15, you’ll get $10 in free play on the gaming floor and access to a special buffet (provided you’re wearing our logo). There will also be a band playing as part of BDG’s normal Saturday night entertainment, and places to watch the MLS game of the week.

“Super excited to take our partnership with Ryan and the folks at Batavia Downs Gaming to the next level,” Mendola said. “They are great supporters of soccer, and we’re ready to start this 2015 season party early.”

  1. Really looking forward to seeing everyone. We’ve had lots of fun with FC Buffalo events here in the past. Our $28 Million expansion is complete and attendees will see our new entrance and expanded gaming floor if the come out in April!
