A 55th minute penalty kick lifted Dayton Dynamo to a 1-0 win over FC Buffalo at Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium on Saturday in the hosts’ first match of the 2017 NPSL season..

The Blitzers outshot Dayton 16-7, but saw several prime opportunities stopped by Dynamo keeper Paulo Pinto including a gut-punching stop on Fox Slotemaker at the final whistle.

FCB was led by center back tandem Jordan Sinclair and Slotemaker, who helped limit Dayton’s chances. Slotemaker was named the FCB Man of the Match for his efforts.

The Blitzers also won seven corners to Dayton’s three.

FCB is next in action at Erie on Friday, and will return home for a June 2 date with the Rochester Lancers.

Lineup: Hogg; Walter, Sinclair, Slotemaker, Cary (Grabowski), Enstrom, Cooper, Barrett (Peterson), Winkel (Maier), Scales, McFayden.
