Today’s profiles of new additions to FC Buffalo include a freshman who started 19 games for Binghamton after a successful high school career in Lockport, and the senior who scored more goals per game than any forward in the NCAA this summer.

First up: Austin Gerber

How would you describe yourself as a player, and what players in the world at your position do you admire?

I’m hard working, I have a winning mentality, I am very aggressive with taking players on, and I’ll always put myself on the line for my teammates. Like any attacking player would say, you love to watch players like Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, and Ibrahimovic. The way they connect with their teammates and attack defenses is amazing to watch. Their skill on the ball is remarkable as well as there abilities to score.

What do you like to do away from soccer?

I’m still around the game. Last year I coached a u10 team for the Pittsford Hawks Organization for my first year coaching and we finished 12-0. I have a great group of guys, love coaching them and teaching them more about the game.

What’s your most memorable soccer experience?

My senior year season for Keuka College, breaking the school record for points in a season (58) and goals in a season (26) and leading the NCAA goals per game, points per game, and total points. Also beating one of our biggest rivals and last year’s conference champions, SUNY IT, 3-1 where I scored three goals in 4:49 seconds. Lastly, being featured in Sports Illustrated was a very memorable moment.

What’s your most memorable non-soccer experience?

My most memorable non-soccer related experience is probably my vacation to the island of Kauai where I learned to surf in shark-infested waters, when I’m terrified of sharks.

What’s something fans should know about you?

I am the next up-and-coming Buffalo Bills kicker. Not really, but I can kick a 55 yard field goal accurately with room to spare. That being said, Go Bills!

Next up: Isaiah Barrett

What do you like to do away from soccer?

I like to watch soccer if I’m not playing it.

What’s your most memorable soccer experience?

Being named to the America East All-Rookie team.

What’s your most memorable non-soccer experience?

My first day of college.

What’s something fans should know about you?

I’m pretty easy-going but when I step on the field its all business.
