FC Buffalo would like to congratulate midfielder Keane McIvor, who has signed a contract with Swedish second division side Gottne IF and is expected to make his debut this weekend.

A Robert Morris University product from Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago, McIvor was nominated for NPSL East Conference Best XI honors after scoring three times with two assists in nine matches.

“To play professional football has always been my biggest dream ever since I was a kid,” McIvor said. “Now I am here and I couldn’t be more excited to get going in Sweden. I hope to continuously learn and improve in every aspect of my game which will help me play at the highest level possible.”

McIvor represented Trinidad and Tobago at youth national team levels, and was selected to compete for the Soca Warriors at the 2015 Pan American Games. He scored twice for Gottne’s II side in a warm-up match this week.

Unavailable to FC Buffalo due to international clearance issues for the first two matches of 2018, McIvor’s desire to win and creative mind made him a key piece of FCB’s seven-match unbeaten run.

“We were fortunate to add Keane late this Spring, knowing he’d likely find a European home after the season,” said FCB president Nick Mendola. “We’re grateful to have had his competitive nature, professionalism, and playmaking wizardry in blue and gold this season and will be following his career with great interest.”

Gottne sits eighth in Division 2 Norrland after 17 match days, 10 points back of the promotion playoff spot and 12 back of the table lead.
