Legislator Dixon welcomes FCB to district, honors team

Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon, whose district includes Hamburg, is honoring FC Buffalo on its sixth season, which kicks off Saturday at Howe Field in Hamburg. A proclamation from the County Legislature will be presented by Legislator Dixon to the team before the game gets underway.

“FC Buffalo is a big part of the Buffalo sports world and has done a great deal to develop a passion for soccer throughout Erie County,” said Legislator Dixon. “I want to wish the players and coaches the best of luck on a successful season and to thank them for their commitment to giving the Western New York community a great soccer team to support. The game at Howe Field is a great one-time event and I hope many of you will attend to cheer on the team.”

FC Buffalo’s ownership was humbled by the recognition, as the legislature paused to honor the club during Thursday’s session.

“We’re almost speechless,” said FCB co-owner Scott Frauenhofer. “For Legislator Dixon and her peers to consider us for such an honor is a tremendous moment for the club, and we can’t thank her enough.”

Legislator Dixon will be on hand Saturday to meet the team before its match against Cincinnati Saints at 7 p.m. ET.

We could hardly be prouder. Check out the full proclamation below:
