Next up in our “new boys” series of profiles is the third new face from Niagara University, and our first ever player from coach Brendan Nash’s program at Bucknell University. Julian Ekeze joins the Ferguson brothers and holdover goalkeeper Steven Casey with FC Buffalo, while Connor Willings is a capable of playing on either side of the field at defense and midfield.
First up: Julian Ekeze
How would you describe yourself as a player, and what players in the world at your position do you admire?

I would describe myself as a player with pace who likes to attack and set other players up for goal scoring opportunities. I really admire Raheem Sterling.

Away from soccer I enjoy listening to music and playing basketball.

What’s your most memorable soccer experience?

My most memorable soccer experience would be winning the MAAC championship for Niagara University.

What’s your most memorable non-soccer experience?

Going to Colombia to see my family for the first time.

What’s something fans should know about you?

I play piano and guitar.

How would you describe yourself as a player, and what players in the world at your position do you admire?

I’m a very smart soccer player who reads the game well and I’m strong in the air. I’ve always been a big fan of Javier Mascherano because he is an all-around gifted player.

Connor WillingsWhat do you like to do away from soccer?

I love playing basketball, watching sports, and snowboarding.

What’s your most memorable soccer experience?

Winning the 2014-2015 Patriot League and playing in the NCAA tournament with Bucknell University.

What’s your most memorable non-soccer experience?

My friends and I did a cross country road trip for Spring Break last year.

What’s something fans should know about you?

I’m a huge Liverpool fan and an aspiring professional FIFA player.
