Finale Week: What YOU need to know

On the heels of an impressive and unprecedented second-half comeback win in Pittsburgh, FC Buffalo manager Frank Butcher and his men prepare for a busy final week of the NPSL season.

FCB closes out the season at Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium on Friday night with Fan Appreciation Night against reigning national champions AFC Cleveland, a visiting Royals squad that needs a win to guarantee a playoff spot and chance to defend its title.

Here’s what you need to know for this week:

1) Help out two terrific organizations: FCB is raising money for two important Western New York organizations: Jericho Road Community Health Center and West Side International Soccer. You can buy a commemorative “For Our City” with proceeds going to either organization, or use the discount code “FOROURCITY” on ticket purchases for Friday’s game to see a portion of proceeds go to Jericho Road and WSIS. 2) Hang out with us for team awards night: FC Buffalo is “Holed Up For The Gold Cup” at official partner bar Mes Que on Hertel Avenue, and will be celebrating with our team on Wednesday at Soho Burger Bar on West Chippewa in Downtown Buffalo. After a team dinner, the players will be hanging out for the U.S. – Martinique group stage match of the Gold Cup, where we’ll announce our team award winners at halftime of. That match kicks off at 9 p.m. but there’s plenty going on at Soho Live before the event.

3) Holed Up For The Gold Cup, internationally speaking: FC Buffalo’s Canadian contingent of Bayley Winkel and Jake Cooper will be at Mes Que at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for the Canada vs. Costa Rica group stage match, and Jamaican striker Akean Shackleford will be on hand for the 10:30 p.m. match between Jamaica and Mexico.

4) FCB then plays its home finale on Friday, July 14 against AFC Cleveland. Get your tickets hereWe’ll have autographs on the field after the game, as well as a number of in-game giveaways, and other treats. Then congregate at Mes Que after the match for a proper send-off.

5) Vote for the 2017 Supporters’ Choice Award: For the eighth-straight year, we want you to vote for up to three of your favorite players for our awards ceremony. Deadline is Wednesday.

    Are tix available at the stadium on Friday? We’re planning on attending, just don’t want to purchase ahead of time just on case.
