A pair of FC Buffalo veterans are headed to Fort Lauderdale for the 2016 National Premier Soccer League Combine in January.

Brothers Andrew and Matthew Ferguson will rep the blue and gold for the Midwest team. Both Niagara University products, Andrew was voted FCB’s Most Valuable Player and Supporters’ Choice Award winner. He also was named First Team All-Midwest, scoring three goals and adding three assists in 13 appearances.

Matt was named to the NPSL’s Supporters XI as an outside back, and finished second to his brother in the running for FCB’s “Supporters’ Choice Award”. Matt had two assists in 14 appearances for the Blitzers last season.

The 2014 NPSL Combine was good to the Wolves as well, with four FCB players participating in the weekend tournament, won by the Midwest. In addition to training and playing in front of scouts, Chris Walter, Jeff Thomas, Ross and Cassis were given professional advice from Premier League manager Chris Ramsey.

Bobby Ross scored the tournament-winning goal and earned an invite to train with Saint Louis FC of the USL, while Waleed Cassis went on to sign with the NASL’s Ottawa Fury. Fellow Midwest team member Tyler Pasher (Lansing United) was noticed and signed by the USL’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
