Copley, McBeth sign on for 2016

FC Buffalo head coach announced the addition of two new players for the 2016 season on Thursday in center back Stephen Copley and winger Johnny McBeth.

Head coach Brendan Murphy had the following to say about the two additions:

“Stephen has played a ton of minutes in one of the best conferences in the country. He is a polished center back who will undoubtedly be a major contributor for our team.

“We’re excited to bring another Hartwick player into the group for this season. Johnny has shown that he is capable of playing in multiple roles anywhere up and down the left flank.”

FC Buffalo opens its 2016 season on Saturday, May 14 at Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. against the Rochester River DogZ.

Stephen Copley (UC Riverside / Torrance, Calfornia)

— Big West All-Conference Second Team defender started 17 games and scored two goals for the Highlanders.

Johnny McBeth (Hartwick College / Glasgow, Scotland)

— CCA All-Central Region First Team winger at Upper Iowa University, McBeth scored 10 goals and 9 assists in two seasons at the D-2 level before transferring to Hartwick.
