Coach Murphy, players unveil park sign at Community Day

FC Buffalo head coach Brendan Murphy was joined by players Andrew Bednarsky, Russell Cicerone and Dan Hunt at the Buffalo Legacy Project’s “Community Day at Mulroy Park”.

The quartet taught some skills to local South Buffalo players and even took part in a mini-game before watching councilman Mickey Kearns unveil the new sign at Pierce Field.

“We’re very proud of Coach Murphy, Russell, Dan and Andrew for giving their time to a great group of kids, and thankful to Russ Kingsbury for the invitation,” said FC Buffalo co-owner Nick Mendola. “We’re thankful to play a minor role in such a cool day.”

Not that it wasn’t fun. A bunch of the kids got together as “Mexico” to scrimmage “FC Buffalo” for the “World Cup.” FCB was joined by a couple friends from the camp, including the youngster Noah.

Watch Russell set little Noah up for an adorable game-winner (and witness Andrew celebrate the ‘Cup’ win).
