With four available healthy defenders, FCB got brilliant 90-minute performances from Jordan Sinclair, Braden Scales, and Zach Peterson as coach Frank Butcher flipped his script with a 3-5-2 formation.

Akean Shackleford (Savannah La Mar / Indian Hills Community College) scored his team-leading third and fourth goals of the season, while Julien Dragomir (Scottsdale, Arizona / MSU Billings) nabbed his third in a 3-3 draw with Dayton Dynamo at Roger Glass Stadium on Sunday.

Austin Stout helped to cue FCB up for a lead after just 1:40 when his shot was parried into the path of Dragomir, whose first touch shot had no obstacles en route to goal.

FCB held the lead into halftime, but gave up a goal off a corner kick and then a deflected marker. But buoyed by substitutes Bayley Winkel (Whitby, Ontario / Robert Morris University) and Shackleford, both on the bench due to injuries, the Blitzers came storming back.

Braden Scales’ (Lockport, N.Y. / University at Buffalo) cross was played into Shackleford’s path by Isaiah Barrett (Lockport, N.Y. / University of Binghamton), and the Jamaican hit a shot through traffic that leveled the scored at 2.

Dayton reclaimed the lead, but it was short-lived. Barrett, darted down the end line and won a 50-50 battle before squaring the ball a yard in front of the goal line for Shackleford to pass home.

Barrett’s pair of assists make him the second player in club history to post two multi-assist games and the first to do it in the same season. Brian Knapp did it in 2013 and 2015 (All records here).

FCB returns home to face rivals Erie on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
