Isaiah Barrett had a goal and two assists to help FC Buffalo to its first win of the season, as the Blitzers beat visiting Syracuse FC 5-1 on Sunday at Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium.

Barrett got the scoring started off a ninth minute corner kick when he found a ball poked loose by Fox Slotemaker and pushed a low shot behind Syracuse keeper Pat Castle to make it 1-0.

Cuse equalized in the 24th minute, but FCB reclaimed the lead two minutes later when Bayley Winkel’s 18-yard shot hit the right post and bounded off Castle’s back before skittering over the goal line.

It was 2-1 at half, and the Blitzers doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half when David Enstrom pounded a loose ball into the roof of the net.

Barrett sent Akean Shackleford in 1v1 with Castle in the 62nd minute, and the Jamaican didn’t miss. FCB finished the scoring when Mackenzie Roach helped Julien Dragomir to his first FCB goal with 20 minutes to play.

FCB visits Syracuse on Wednesday before hosting the Fort Pitt Regiment on Saturday night. Tickets are available here.
